ARTIST STATEMENT
There is a driving force encouraging me, provoking me, moving me to create colors and textures and abstracts and apply these concepts to canvas, so that which affects me can affect others.
Painting gives me life. I need to share that which inspires me. I learn something new about myself with each piece I create. I am finding a new evolution in myself, a new creation, a new expansion. My art has allowed me to go far and beyond, what was once thought to be binding limits, binding paths. I want to share the journey of my art, and with each new piece explore that which has gone undiscovered in me, so I may share it with others.
BIOGRAPHY
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, and earned a BS in Business Administration from California State University Los Angeles.
I have had no formal training in the arts, therefore I consider my art raw, but with a
considerable amount of talent. I am a self- taught abstract artist using color and texture to express my art.
Five years ago, I decided to pursue my passion of raw canvass art, and when I am not working at my full time job, this is my obsession, my need to create. I paint every chance I have, whether it is on late nights, weekends, days off and holidays
My finished work has been displayed at my place of employment, via gifts to various co-workers. It draws considerable amount of attention and awe.
I am encouraged by the enthusiasm of family, friends and co-workers to expand
my audience and the appreciation of my art.
Therefore, I feel the time is now, to strive for further growth of my art pieces, and to try and get the works displayed to a wider audience via art gallery showings and exhibits.
